As we come back to university from Christmas, many of us will be getting back into university work and organising our time with the workload. Trying to settle back into your routine and to see everyone. It can be a lot and sometimes we feel it’s too much to juggle. But
It’s important to try to make the time to unpack when you move back in and ensure you have the time to relax. Don’t make too many plans as soon as you’re back because you won’t be able to get everything sorted and you may fall behind. It can be a lot to move back to university after being at home for so long so give yourself that time. It may take a few days to get back into the swing of things.
Secondly, get on top of your work as soon as you’ve got it. I tended to leave my work when I got it because I ‘d feel I’d have lots of time to do it. I found that work built up and I had more assignment deadlines were around the corner. I would start to get stressed and ended up leaving things to the last minute. Once you are given homework and assignment briefs, prioritise it to avoid stress and rushed work.
Find time to catch up with people who you haven’t seen in a while. It will really help to see these people, but don’t make too many plans because it’ll stress you out. Make a few plans when you can and enjoy it. They’ve probably missed you!
More importantly – money! Try and be careful with it. I remember how happy I was when I got my loan and tended to spend it as soon as I could. Now I know to budget! Allow yourself a certain amount of money each week and stick to it as much as you can. It will help you so much once its the end of the term and you have some money left. Trust me.
Most of all, enjoy it. University is a once in a lifetime experience so don’t waste it away. Love it, laugh and live. Have fun and stay safe!
